A massive game that takes place in the real world, with Facebook being used as a means of regulating and keeping track of the game. The premise is you sign up, everyone starts as humans except for a handful of starter zombies. From there it's a week-long game of surviving the spreading zombie disease.
SUPANOVA
When: Friday, April 23rd to Friday, April 30th, 2010
State: Victoria-wide Geek Event Type: General geekyness and zombies
I love Armageddon Melbourne; it is one of the best expos I have ever attended. As such, it saddens me all the more to report that Armageddon Sydney was like a car stalling at the starting line. Everything was working under the hood, however for some reason no oil was making it to the engine.
With a lovely line-up of guests featuring Paul McGann (the eighth doctor from Doctor Who) and Dominic Keating (Lt. Malcolm Reed on Star Trek: Enterprise) plus excellent traders and a whole list of events including cosplay and card games. Not to mention that Sydney Town Hall was a stunning location. Armageddon seemed to have everything lined up to make it a great day.
Pop culture expo covering all kinds of geekery. In addition to the many events running at Supanova, there's even a concert with James Masters on the Saturday night at 7pm.
