FYI, MacFarlane did do a live-action show, The Winner. It was a terrible failure in every way possible.

Back when he wrote for Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo and had to work to other peoples' standards he didn't do a terrible job, but when he landed his own shows he became incredibly self-indulgent.
